Abstract

ABSTRAK

Tiosianat merupakan salah satu senyawa yang secara tidak langsung dapat menyebabkan Gangguan Akibat Kekurangan Iodium (GAKI). Penentuan tiosianat dapat dilakukan dengan tes kit, berdasarkan  metode kolorimetri yaitu dengan cara pembentukan kompleks berwarna merah Besi (III) tiosianat. Pembentukan kompleks Besi (III) tiosianat dapat dilakukan dengan cara mereaksikan tiosianat SCN- dengan ion Fe3+ dalam suasana asam. Warna yang dihasilkan akan dianalisa secara spektrofotometri visibel. Intensitas warna dari kompleks yang terbentuk dibuat sebagai komparator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan waktu optimum pembentukan kompleks adalah 3 menit dan pH 2.

ABSTRACT

Thiocyanate is a compound that can indirectly lead to Iodine Deficiency Disorders(IDD). Determination of thiocyanate to do with the test kit, based on the colorimetric method based on the formation of the red complex iron(III) thiocyanate. Complex formation of iron(III) thiocyanate can be done by reacting thiocyanate(SCN-) with Fe3+ ions under acidic conditions. The resulting color will be analyzed by visible spectrophotometry. Color intensity of the complex formed was madeas a comparator. The results showed the optimum time of the complex formation of 3 minutes and pH 2.
